Kay Tejan makes a wonderful transfer. The TOP Oss striker, who only had his first season in professional football last year, is leased to the Moldovan national champion Sheriff Tiraspol. That club surprised last season in the Champions League.

You can read on the channels of Sheriff and TOP Oss that Tejan can be admired next season in Transnistria, the Moldavian region where Tiraspol is located. The striker is rented out by Oss for a year and Sheriff has negotiated an option to buy. It is not clear from the reports of both clubs exactly how high the amount of that purchase option is. Tejan could already make his debut for his new club in the preliminary round of the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Last year, Sheriff had another prodigious season in the multi-billion dollar ball. In a group with Real Madrid, Internazionale and Shakhtar Donetsk, they were considered to have no chance, but partly due to an away win over Real Madrid, the Moldovans participated in qualifying for the knockout phase until the final day. That didn’t work out in the end and so they hope to be able to make another attempt this season. In order to reach the main tournament, the Slovenian NK Maribor has to be settled in the second preliminary round and Tejan can already play those matches.

The career of the 25-year-old Amsterdammer takes another special turn. Tejan played for amateur clubs for years and only made the switch to professional football in 2021. Then TOP Oss took him away from Quick Boys and that was a golden opportunity, because Tejan scored fourteen goals in the Kitchen Champion Division last year. Sheriff also noticed that and the twenty-time Moldovan champion dares to take the gamble with the strong attacker.
