The line-up of Bayern Munich for the duel with Hertha BSC has been announced. Thomas Tuchel sets up two former Ajax players with Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, while Ryan Gravenberch and Daley Blind have to hope for a substitute. With a win, Bayern regains the lead from Borussia Dortmund. The match starts at 3.30 pm and can be seen on via play.

Due to the injury to Alphonso Davies, Mazraoui already seemed to be able to prepare for a starting place. That has now turned out to be true. The Moroccan international is the rightmost man in a four-man defense, which also consists of João Cancelo, De Ligt and Benjamin Pavard. Yann Sommer defends the goal. The midfield block is formed by Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, while Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and Sadio Mane act behind deepest striker Serge Gnabry.

Bayern received a huge windfall on Friday thanks to the draw of title competitor Borussia Dortmund at VfL Bochum (1-1). Therefore know the record master that if it wins it is the new leader of the list. Hertha seems to be the ideal opponent for this, as the capitals have traveled to the Allianz Arena as a last resort. However, Tuchel is struggling with the necessary injuries. In addition to Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernández, who have been absent for some time, Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting are also missing. The latter was good for two of Bayern’s three goals (2-3) during the game earlier this season in Berlin. Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman did get fit in time.

Like Bayern, Hertha also has to deal with a laundry list of absentees: Stevan Jovetic, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Marco Richter, Kelian Nsona. Marc-Oliver Kempf, Suat Serdar, Ivan Sunjic and Marton Dardai. The latter’s father, Pál Dárdai, started his third period as Hertha trainer last week. The return of the former player of the club did not go as desired with a 2-4 defeat. However, that defeat cannot be called a surprise, there the Old Lady only two points from his last seven games. Moreover: Hertha already conceded 29 goals in the second half of the season, making it the worst of all teams in the Bundesliga.
