The official debut of Dirk Kuijt as trainer of ADO Den Haag threatens to turn out to be a fiasco. Halfway through the duel with Heracles Almelo in the Kitchen Champion Division, Kuijt’s team faces a 4-0 deficit. Marko Vejinovic opened the score from a free kick, after which two goals by Samuel Armenteros and a goal by Nikolai Laursen led to the halftime score.

Heracles experienced an absolute dream start thanks to the returning Marco Vejinovic, of whom trainer John Lammers had already indicated that he is top fit. After three minutes, the midfielder beautifully shot a free kick behind goalkeeper Hugo Wentges: 1-0. Fifteen minutes later, the problems for Kuijt’s team got a lot worse after the Hagenians made a big mistake during the build-up. The chastened Samuel Armenteros knew how to punish that mercilessly.

Ten minutes later, the Swede scored his second goal, when he managed to work a perfect pass from Anas Ouahim with the outside left controlled behind goalkeeper Wentges. The 4-0 was in the name of Laursen, who put his name on the scoreboard at the suggestion of Emil Hansson.

Hans Kraay Jr. late in the studio of ESPN know how to be shocked by the performance of ADO. “What do you do when you’re Kuijt? You have to hope that the bus leaves as soon as possible. This is what they are making today never never good again. They are completely suffocated in midfield. This is a huge let down. Incredibly handsome of Heracles.”
