Patrick Kluivert and Kiki Musampa enjoyed Antony last season. Kluivert would not be surprised if the wing attacker of Ajax makes a transfer to the European top next summer, while Musampa saw how the team from Amsterdam lacked creativity after Antony suffered an ankle injury at the beginning of April.
“If you look at individual class, I’m a big fan of Antony,” Kluivert told Football International† “That is a real Ajax attacker. His ball technique, the speed, the brutality in his often decisive actions: that’s how we like to see it in Amsterdam. The former footballer of Ajax and Barcelona, among others, states that it must be a pleasure to play with a creative player like Antony. “Because you can play him in any situation. Whether there are two or three men in his back, he demands the ball and is immediately threatening. He will never hide. I think it won’t be long before Antony will make the step to a foreign top club.”
Ajax showed two faces this season. While the national champion won his league matches every week with large numbers during the first season, the victories after the winter break were won with great difficulty. “I think Ajax’s volatility this season had to do with the breadth of the selection,” says Musampa. “There was not enough body on the bench, while there have been quite a few injuries. According to Musampa, Ajax lacked creativity and individual class in the last phase of the attacking game after Antony’s injury in April. “You need that to create opportunities and make a difference.
