FC Emmen has become somewhat surprising winner of the third period title in the Kitchen Champion Division. League-leader FC Volendam was treated to a major defeat on their own field: 4-1. As a result, Emmen rises to place one on the last match day in the third period, as FC Eindhoven, until today the list leader in this period, did not get further than a draw at home against ADO Den Haag. Of course there was a big party afterwards in the stadium of the victorious Emmen, which is now also the leader in the Kitchen Champion Division.

FC Emmen – FC Volendam 4-1
The visitors were completely overwhelmed by FC Emmen in the first half. After fifteen minutes, the home team managed to break the spell, when Rui Mendes turned away from his direct opponent and shot in the 1-0. FC Volendam then faced a wider deficit, after Reda Kharchouch outwitted the outgoing goalkeeper Filip Stankovic: 2-0. Emmen finally decided the game before half-time. Miguel Araujo was first accurate with the head from a free kick by Jasin Assehnoun, after which Kharchouch scored the 4-0 with his second of the evening. In the second act, Daryl van Mieghem was responsible for the goal of the Volendam team. The wing attacker determined the final score at 4-1 by working in on a pass from Dean Ruben James.

Joy at FC Emmen after another goal against FC Volendam.

FC Den Bosch – Young PSV – 3-2
Within one minute and seventeen seconds, the lead for the people of Eindhoven was already a fact. With half an hour on the clock, PSV’s U23 team doubled the margin. A cross from Johan Bakayoko was convincingly shot into the roof of the goal by Ismael Saibari: 0-2. FC Den Bosch created a chance after a chance on the stroke of half-time. The deserved connecting goal eventually came injury time. Ryan Leijten got the ball at his feet and hit the target with a placed shot from outside the box: 1-2. The Bosschenaren tied the score early in the second thanks to Nikolaj Möller, who ran in a cross from Jeremy Cijntje after two attempts: 2-2. Dino Halilovic even completed the comeback of the Bosschenaren in the final phase by shooting a ball from a corner against the ropes: 3-2.

FC Dordrecht – TOP Oss 1-0
Both teams failed to create opportunities in the opening phase. The first danger came in the name of Kyvon Leidsman halfway through the first half, who hit the post on behalf of the visitors. Offside got in the way of FC Dordrecht’s opening goal a few minutes later. Before half time, the home team took the lead through Stijn Meijer. The striker was served by Jacky Donkor and this time the flag stayed down: 1-0. Meijer’s goal turned out to be ahead after ninety minutes the Sheepheads enough for the full loot.

FC Eindhoven – ADO The Hague 1-1
The spectators were presented with a lackluster opening phase in the Jan Louwers Stadium. The first chance that ADO Den Haag got after more than twenty minutes, on the other hand, was immediately converted into a goal, when a cross from Boy Kemper was headed back by Thomas Verheydt on Sem Steijn. It was then a breeze for the attacking midfielder to tap in: 0-1. FC Eindhoven knew that due to the deficit it needed two goals to ensure a win of the period title. Halfway through the second half, the home team finally came alongside via Joey Sleegers, who nodded in a measured cross from Justin Ogenia: 1-1. FC Eindhoven could almost start from scratch, but got away well when Jamal Amofa hit the bar. The team of trainer Rob Penders eventually had to leave the period title to FC Emmen, because a winning goal was not forthcoming in the final phase.

Helmond Sport – VVV-Venlo 0-3
Carl Johansson signed for the opening goal of the visitors from North Limburg in the final minute of the first half. Helmond Sport made a good impression in the second half, but it was VVV that went further. After more than an hour of play, Nick Venema scored the second Venlo goal and the attack leader doubled his number of the evening with ten minutes left on the clock. There was not even a goal for the home team.

MVV Maastricht – Young AZ 2-3
Iman Griffith broke the spell for AZ in the initial phase with a striking bang of about twenty meters. MVV straightened its back, although it took until ten minutes after the break before the 1-1 appeared on the scoreboard. The goalscorer was Sven Blummel. MVV even took the lead via Orhan Dzepar. However, the final agreement was for Jong AZ, which managed to equalize with Mexx Meerdink’s first professional goal. The winning goal came shortly before time through the foot of Mohamed Taabouni, who brilliantly grew into the match winner with a wonderful bang in the top left corner.

Roda JC Kerkrade – De Graafschap 2-0
The start of Roda JC was energetic, although help was needed from De Graafschap goalkeeper Hidde Jurjus. He misjudged a cross from Dylan Vente, after which the detached Patrick Pflücke hit hard: 1-0. Only with seventeen minutes left on the clock, Vente signed for the second goal, already his eighteenth of the season. His header came after an excellent cross from the outstanding Pflücke. There was no final offensive by the poor De Graafschap, so that the three points remained in Kerkrade.

Telstar – NAC Breda 1-4

Ezechiel Banzuzi threw out a few braces, before enabling Hilterman to make the 1-2. Velanas increased the lead with more than twenty minutes to play. In the third minute of stoppage time, Boris van Schuppen determined the final score at 1-4.
