Michiel Kramer certainly did not feel good about his departure from ADO Den Haag after the end of last season. According to the RKC Waalwijk striker, the situation that the club is currently in is the fault of the club management, including technical advisor Martin Jol. After an extremely difficult season full of unrest, ADO relegated last season. The club currently occupies fourth place in the Kitchen Champion Division.

During his time at ADO, Kramer seriously doubted whether he wanted to continue as a football player. “You can’t imagine the way we were treated,” he says in an interview with Football International on the experienced players from the selection. “It was painful and embarrassing. Tell me if you want to get rid of me, but it always happened behind my back. The club management did not realize what kind of group the older boys were. We have always gone the extra mile and have been treated like garbage.”

The striker lost the fun in football. Both in sporting and financial terms, ADO faced a difficult time, which according to Kramer can mainly be blamed on the club management. “What happened to that club is simply the fault of the management,” he says clearly. “If you confront them with that, they say it already was. Martin Jol was really laughable. If you didn’t agree with him, you got the wind from the front. They have screwed up the club.”

Despite the relegation of ADO under coach Ruud Brood, Kramer was not unwilling to stay longer at the club from The Hague. “It would have been the easiest way. With ADO Den Haag in the Kitchen Champion Division, I could have been content with that, but they didn’t even make an offer,” the attacker said. “In January, February I considered giving up. I got emails and phone calls again telling me to think about the club because of my salary. The funny thing was that I was far from the highest paid player. They acted like I was a big earner and restless. You start to doubt yourself. Why are they doing this?”
