Jürgen Klopp has spoken nice words about Ryan Gravenberch in the run-up to the Europa League match against Atalanta. The midfielder did not get through his debut year at Liverpool unscathed, but has nothing to fear in terms of confidence.

Gravenberch had to miss seven games this season due to various injuries and has not yet been in the starting line-up more than three games in a row, but that does not alter the fact that Klopp has a high regard for the Dutchman.

“Ryan has played super important games for us,” Klopp said at the press conference. “He only got injured at times when he could get some rhythm. After that he had some minor injuries here and there.”

Nevertheless, Klopp describes Gravenberch as an 'incredible talent'. “His first touch, athleticism and acceleration are all fantastic. He is an incredibly talented player and I really think he is in the right place and at the right club.”

Gravenberch has played 33 official games in the Liverpool shirt so far, 19 of which as a starter. He managed to find the net three times and acted as a pointer twice.

“We have a very good midfield, but I can promise you that Ryan will get more and more minutes, 100 percent,” says Klopp. “There is more to come.”

Liverpool will take on Atalanta in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday evening from 9:00 PM. For Gravenberch, that match will include a reunion with former Ajax teammate Mitchel Bakker.
