Marcus Rashford has praise for Erik ten Hag. The 24-year-old attacker trained for the first time this week under the new manager of Manchester United and has a positive feeling about it.

“We’ve got that feeling of excitement again and there’s a buzz can be felt around the training pitch, so we are definitely going into preparation with a positive feeling,” Rashford said on the Manchester United club site. “First of all, it’s about the game principles and how Ten Hag wants to play. Second, we should enjoy it. In the first week of training we did both and everyone is looking forward to going to training camp and applying what we worked on in training in the first practice matches.”

Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League last season, qualifying the club only for the Europa League. It has partly led to the fact that Ten Hag has not yet succeeded in bringing large purchases to Old Trafford. Rashford nevertheless looks forward to working with the 52-year-old trainer with confidence. “It’s about new tactics, fresh ideas and a new personality that have been added to the team.”

“We have to give ourselves time to learn how he wants us to play and that it will feel natural,” continued Rashford. “That takes time, but it is a challenge that we are all looking forward to.” The 46-time England international was with last season the Red Devils not an undisputed starter under Ole Gunnar Solskaer and interim manager Ralf Rangnick. In 31 official matches across all competitions, he scored 5 goals and 2 assists.
