Arne Slot can look forward to an improved contract proposal from Feyenoord worth almost three and a half million euros per year, assures The Telegraph. The British newspaper follows the Feyenoord trainer with above-average interest, because he is high on Tottenham Hotspur’s wish list. Feyenoord’s offer doesn’t seem huge by Premier League standards, but it shows the club’s enormous dedication.

Slot is now fixed for two seasons at Feyenoord, which wants to do everything it can to keep the success coach after winning the national title. General manager Dennis te Kloese also admitted this to the media. It remains to be seen whether Slot is willing to sign a new contract again. In July 2022, the coach extended at Feyenoord. According to Valentijn Driessen and Martijn Krabbendam, Slot is already the best-paid trainer ever at the club with a salary of around two million euros. Driessen introduced on Monday Inside today that Slot will receive a million euros in championship premium on top of that.

Tottenham are busy finding a successor for the sacked Antonio Conte. Slot is one of the last candidates and can according to The Telegraph be taken away from Feyenoord for six million pounds, the equivalent of almost seven million euros. In that case, Slot will claim full control over the first team, including the purchase policy, something for which chairman Daniel Levy would be somewhat reluctant. In London, Slot could earn at least double the top offer from Feyenoord.

Slot does not seem to be the top candidate at the moment. The Spurs recently contacted Luis Enrique, who resigned as national coach of Spain after the failed World Cup. Xabi Alonso, who impresses as coach of Bayer Leverkusen, is also high on the wish list. According to Driessen, Alonso does not want to talk to Tottenham during the season in order to fully focus on Leverkusen. Tottenham also admires Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou.
