The Netherlands may definitively organize the Final Four of the Nations League. This has been confirmed by UEFA. In the summer of 2023, Croatia, Spain, Italy and the the Dutch will compete for the cup and they will do so in the Grolsch Veste of FC Twente and De Kuip, the stadium of Feyenoord. The Johan Cruijff ArenA and the Philips Stadium were already reserved for other activities at that time and could therefore not be used as a stadium.

After the the Dutch qualified for the Finals by beating Belgium, Poland and Wales in the group stage, it was already clear that the final tournament would be held in the Netherlands. Our country was the only candidate whose national team had qualified for the Final Four, so we only had to wait for confirmation from UEFA. It arrived on Tuesday. The European Football Association also announces that De Kuip in Rotterdam and the Enschede Grolsch Veste will be played.

The Johan Cruijff ArenA and the Philips Stadium also hoped to host matches, but in the summer the two stadiums often host other activities. This will also be the case in June 2023, so that the Grolsch Veste will now have the honor of being the battleground for a match in the semi-finals and the consolation final. The other semi-final and the final will be played in South Rotterdam.

It is not the first time that the Dutch national team is in the final round of the Nations League. Also in 2019, the the Dutch was allowed to report to the last four, but in Portugal it lost to the host country in the final (1-0). England won 2-1 in the semi-final. At the time, Ronald Koeman was still national coach and he will return in that capacity after the World Cup. He will therefore also experience a final round of the Nations League for the second time.
