Bart Verbruggen is on Bayern Munich's wish list, the German reports Sports Image Wednesday. The 21-year-old goalkeeper from Zwolle, who is under contract with Brighton & Hove Albion until mid-2028, is mentioned as one of the cheaper options to succeed Manuel Neuer at der Rekordmeister.

According to the German magazine, Bayern Munich has already looked at Verbruggen several times. “The Dutch goalkeeper showed his potential in the international match against Germany.” However, Verbruggen, a five-time international of the Dutch team, could not prevent a 2-1 defeat in Frankfurt.

Verbruggen is not the only goalkeeper who is in the picture as Neuer's successor. Alexander Nübel, who was loaned to VfB Stuttgart, leaves a good impression with the surprising number three of the Bundesliga. From the outside, Diogo Costa (FC Porto) and Mike Maignan (AC Milan) are also mentioned.

Because Verbruggen is not yet an undisputed first goalkeeper at Brighton & Hove Albion, he would be one of the cheaper options on Bayern Munich's list. The English club took over Verbruggen from RSC Anderlecht for 20 million euros last summer.

Transfer market estimates its current market value at 15 million euros the Seagulls most likely won't leave him for that amount. The market values of Costa (24) and Maignan (28) are estimated at 45 and 40 million euros respectively.

The 38-year-old Neuer is still in Munich until mid-2025. However, Bayern's club management is said to be looking for a younger closing post who can compete with the veteran. The level of reserve keepers Sven Ulreich (35) and Daniel Peretz (23) would not be high enough for this.

Since his transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion, Verbruggen has played twenty times so far for the current number nine in the Premier League. In those appearances he had to fish 23 times, while keeping 5 clean sheets.
