PSV has said goodbye to Maxime Delanghe. The goalkeeper is not in Ruud van Nistelrooij’s plans and will leave for Lierse SK, the club reports via official channels on Thursday evening. With Walter Benítez and Boy Waterman, the Eindhoven team brought in two heavyweights for the A-selection, while the contract of Kjell Peersman has been broken open with the promise team. Delanghe has signed a one-year contract with Lierse with an option for a second year.

Given Delanghe’s one-year contract, Lierse will have to come up with a transfer fee, but this is not expected to be a huge amount. PSV will try to negotiate a resale percentage in the negotiations. Delanghe was also associated with Anderlecht, where he had to act as second goalkeeper. At Lierse, however, he has more chance of playing time and is expected to become the first goalkeeper.

Delanghe went through the youth training programs of RSC Anderlecht and PSV, before making his debut in professional football in 2020 in the promise team of the Eindhoven team. In that season he made twenty appearances, last year he was thirteen times between the posts. He was also on the bench in the Eredivisie sixteen times last season with the A-selection, but it did not come to an official debut.
