Czeslaw Michniewicz has announced Poland’s final World Cup squad. The national coach has made a place in his selection for, among others, Feyenoord midfielder Sebastian Szymanski, while Pawel Bochniewicz of sc Heerenveen will not be present at the global final tournament in Qatar. As expected, the Polish vanguard looks very strong.
The Serie A is the purveyor of the Michniewicz team. The three goalkeepers, Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Skorupski and Bartlomiej Dragowski, play for Juventus, Bologna and Spezia respectively. Also in the rear are three names who play at the highest level in Italy: Bartosz Bereszynski, Jakub Kiwior and Nicola Zalewski. Kamil Glik also plays in Italy, but he comes from the Serie B on behalf of Benevento.

In midfield, Szymanski is joined by two Serie A players: Piotr Zielinski (Napoli) and Szymon Zurkowski (Fiorentina). The vanguard, which looks the strongest of all lines, is of course Robert Lewandowski. In addition to the Barcelona striker, Arkadiusz Milik (Juventus) and Krzysztof Piatek (Salernitana) have also been selected. It was a tough task for Michniewicz to make the decision, he says at the press conference. “It is the most difficult choice in my coaching career to choose 26 players. 21 will be disappointed and I will not ease their pain,” said the national coach.
