Erik ten Hag has announced his line-up for the return against Omonia Nicosia. The Manchester United manager is making several changes compared to last weekend’s Premier League match with Everton (1-2). That means that Tyrell Malacia, among others, will have the opportunity to make up for his blunder from the first game in Cyprus. The Dutchman was then responsible for Omonia’s opening goal with an individual error. Cristiano Ronaldo is a striker.

Although Manchester United with six points from three matches is by no means certain of wintering in the Europa League, Ten Hag decides to make some changes. Lisandro Martínez, like Antony and Casemiro, keeps his place, while Christian Eriksen and Luke Shaw end up on the bench. As usual, the Argentinian plays as a left center defender in a defense that also consists of Diogo Dalot, Victor Lindelöf and therefore Malacia. David De Gea defends the goal.

There is also a place in the starting eleven for Ronaldo. The Portuguese, who scored his 700th goal in a club on Sunday, has been at the kick-off in every Europa League match for the time being. The flush is in any case thin for Ten Hag in the striker position, as Anthony Martial against Everton had to drop out injured after half an hour. Marcus Rashford can also play as the deepest attacker, but the Englishman starts against Omonia from the left wing.

Manchester United barely managed to win the first meeting with Omonia. After the Cypriots had provided the opening goal after Malacia’s clumsy loss of possession, substitutes Rashford and Martial turned it around to a 1-3 lead for the Red Devils. The former scored twice; Martial appeared on the scoreboard once. Nikolas Panayiotou’s 2-3 came too late for Omonia. The return at Old Trafford will be kicked off at 9 p.m. Dutch time and can be seen on ESPN 1.
