Hakim Ziyech will not move to AC Milan this summer. Report that the Daily Telegraph and various Italian media Thursday afternoon. I Rossoneric want to hire the playmaker with option to buy, while Chelsea only agree to a sale. The London club has now pulled the plug on the negotiations.

Chelsea and coach Thomas Tuchel want to renovate the selection and several players are nominated to leave. Ziyech is one of them. The Moroccan may only be sold, since the Blues expect that he can yield a nice transfer fee and want to cash them now. A rental with a non-mandatory option to buy is therefore not an option for Chelsea, but that is exactly what Milan would like to see. The Italians do not want to spend too much, as they already have to pull out the wallet for the imminent arrival of Charles De Ketelaere.

According to the policymakers in San Siro, taking over Ziyech should not cost too much and renting with a non-mandatory option to buy was the only option. Now that Chelsea does not want that, a transfer to Milan has therefore been rejected for the Moroccan playmaker and other opportunities will have to present themselves. It is not clear what the former Ajax player’s preference is.

Ziyech made the switch from Ajax to Chelsea in mid-2020 for 40 million euros. Under Frank Lampard and his successor Thomas Tuchel, the 29-year-old playmaker never managed to conquer a permanent place. Last season in particular, Ziyech was regularly on the bench at the Blues, although he did have a starting place in the last two matches in the Premier League. Tuchel opts for a 3-4-2-1 system and there does not seem to be a permanent place for Ziyech on the right wing. The German manager has already indicated that he has no intention of changing his way of playing.
