It appears that Mats Hummels will serve a different club than Borussia Dortmund after the summer. The club icon is at odds with trainer Edin Terzic and only wants to extend his expiring contract if the coach leaves. The latter appears to be the case, according to the German branch Sky Sports not going to happen.

Journalist Patrick Berger reports on behalf of the broadcaster that Dortmund plans to start next season with Terzic as head coach. The German with Croatian roots has a contract that runs until mid-2025 and it is expected that he will serve it out.

For Hummels, continuing the collaboration between Dortmund and Terzic probably means the end of his time at BVB. The center defender no longer wishes to work under this trainer and will therefore not renew his expiring contract.

Hummels has repeatedly questioned Terzic's tactics in the past. The relationship between the two also cooled down quite a bit last season. Berger even speaks of 'explosive circumstances'.

Hummels' departure is therefore imminent. There is interest from America and Saudi Arabia, among others, but the 35-year-old defender is not interested.

Two clubs from Italy are also interested in Hummels. Juventus and AC Milan are according BILD for him in the market and according to Sky Sports to have i Rossoneri currently the best papers. This could mainly be due to the relatively short distance between Milan and Hummels' hometown of Munich.

Hummels' last match in yellow and black will most likely be the Champions League final on June 1. At Wembley, Dortmund lost 0-2 to Real Madrid.
