In the new series StadionSpieker brings Football zone a visit to the most beautiful stadiums of the Kitchen Champion Division. In the first episode, captain Tim Receveur shows us around the Yanmar stadium of his club Almere City. The club from Flevoland is currently in a disappointing eighteenth place, while Almere City was at the top last season and eventually finished fourth.

Receveur is a familiar face in the Kitchen Champion Division. The thirty-year-old defensive midfielder started at AGOVV Apeldoorn and moved to Almere City after the club disappeared from professional football. After a few years in Almere, Receveur tried it in the Eredivisie at VVV-Venlo and played a season with De Graafschap in the then Jupiler League. He has been back at Almere City since 2018, where he has become an integral part of the base and has even become captain. In conversation with presenter Kalum van Oudheusden, Receveur walks through the Yanmar Stadium and talks about his life as a professional at Almere City.

It is known that a lot is done for players from the Eredivisie, but players are also pampered at a lower level. At Almere City, healthy food is cooked for the players every day and even the underpants are washed, although that also entails the necessary risks. Receveur explains: “Some guys also grab underpants that don’t belong to them at all. Björn Borg, Calvin Klein: the expensive brands are always the first to go.”

Despite that, according to Receveur, there is still a lot of football humor in the dressing room. “Some guys get really close naked on purpose because they know it’s uncomfortable for others. In any case, the boys who shower naked are often the craziest, they sometimes walk into the physio room naked, for example.” When asked about his best anecdote, Receveur refers to a competition meeting. “We had a match discussion. The computer turns on and it still had porn on it.”
