Katia Aveiro was rushed to hospital late last week due to pneumonia, according to an Instagram post. Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister emphasizes that her health situation is better a few days later. Aveiro was in the news last year because of some remarkable statements about the corona virus and the measures that were attached to it.

Aveiro seems to come with the statement from her hospital bed, given the photo she posts on Instagram. In any case, it is good to see that she gets help with breathing from a tube. “I hope this is the last time I have to write such a message,” she wrote in her statement on Instagram. “In the past few days I didn’t feel like doing that. But the news is apparently spreading fast and out of respect for the people who follow me and my loved ones I want to get out the truth. I did indeed get this damn virus” , let Aveiro know from the hospital in Madeira to her 1.2 million Instagram followers.

“I just followed the protocols and had few symptoms. In addition, the videos I published are from the period before I took a positive corona test,” said Aveiro, who nevertheless contracted pneumonia last week. “Unfortunately my health suddenly deteriorated on Friday and I ended up in hospital. I am now doing everything I can to recover and I thank God and the wonderful medical team for their help.” The post on Instagram shows that Aveiro is being treated at a hospital in Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira.

Aveiro, who spends a lot of time in Brazil as an influencer, made remarkable statements about the corona virus last year. The harsh words came after Ronaldo was tested positive twice by the Portuguese Football Association. “I believe that thousands of people, like me who have come to believe in this pandemic, will see that this is the greatest possible fraud I have witnessed since I was born. I read a line today that I applauded: ‘It is enough with fooling the whole world’. Everyone please open your eyes,” the Portuguese told the outside world in October 2020.

Shortly afterwards, Aveiro came up with a more nuanced opinion. “I respect the coronavirus and will never deny the virus. But I think it is ridiculous that this has brought the world to a standstill. There are people who can no longer work, people with psychological problems and even people who are suicidal. We will certainly have to respect that. I want the old situation to return as soon as possible and for God to protect us from human evil,” Aveiro said in 2020.
