Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyon balanced each other on Sunday evening: 1-1. Peter Bosz’s team took the lead in the first half, but had to watch as substitute Thilo Kehrer equalized fifteen minutes before the end. PSG have only won one of their last five matches in Ligue 1. Georginio Wijnaldum started in the starting lineup and was taken off ten minutes before the end. Xavi Simons came in twenty minutes before the end and signed for his second league match in the shirt of the French superpower. Last season, the Dutchman made his debut in the league match against RC Strasbourg.

Olympique Lyon – Paris Saint Germain 1-1
PSG traveled to Lyon with a badly damaged team and had to do without Lionel Messi, Ángel Di María, Julian Draxler and Gianluigi Donnarumma, among others. Keylor Navas defended the goal for that reason, while Wijnaldum also appeared at the kick-off. It was Bosz’s team that created the first danger of the game. Houssem Aouar tried after a play from the left in the short corner, but found Navas in his way. Five minutes later it was a hit, when Lucas Paquetá was freed in front of the Costa Rican goalie by Bruno Guimarães and shot the ball flawlessly into the left corner.

The visitors had the better of the game in the first half, but were unable to express this in the score. A shot from Marquinhos was tapped just over the goal by Anthony Lopes and Kylian Mbappé hit the outside of the right post with a placed shot. In the second half Lyon had better organization and it became dangerous for the first time via Emerson Palmieri. However, the defender placed the ball narrowly past the right post. Moussa Dembele also had a second goal on his shoe, but he came face to face with Navas on the PSG goalkeeper.

Pochettino brought in Xavi Simons, among others, twenty minutes before the end, but saw Wijnaldum almost lead the 2-0. The midfielder lost the ball to Maxence Caqueret, after which substitute Rayan Cherki shot into the side net next to Navas. On the other hand, Thilo Kehrer was accurate. The substitute worked an apparently tenable shot behind goalkeeper Lopes after Simons’ attempt to open the ball failed: 1-1. Pochettino’s team then pushed on and was even close to victory via Mbappe, but the Frenchman again hit the outside of the post from a free kick from the left side of the field.

FC Nantes – AS Monaco 0-0
With the visitors, Philippe Clément sat on the bench for the first time. The coach who came over from Club Brugge saw how his team got the first chance of the match, but it was not spent on Sofiane Diop. Nantes also had chances to open the score, but Ludovic Blas and Pedro Chirivella, among others, were unhappy in the completion. The last feat of arms came from the foot of substitute Myron Boadu. However, the center striker, who came on for Kevin Volland twenty minutes before the end, saw his shot go past the right post. Monaco maintains a point ahead of Nantes due to the draw and is seventh with 30 points from 20 games.
