Sergio Ramos will say goodbye to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, the 37-year-old defender announced on his social media. Ramos is in his second season in the French capital and has an expiring contract that will not be extended. Ramos does plan to continue his active career at a new club.

“Tomorrow will be a special day, because tomorrow I say goodbye to Paris Saint-Germain,” Ramos wrote on Twitter. “I don’t know how many places you can call home, but without a doubt PSG, Paris and the fans have always felt that way to me. I’m taking on new challenges, thanks for two special years.”

Ramos entered PSG on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, just like Lionel Messi. The defender initially struggled with persistent injuries, but managed to fight back after a lingering rehabilitation. This season he is on 44 official games, in which he scored three times. Ramos will play his last game in the PSG shirt on Saturday. The national champion receives Clermont in the Parc des Princes.
