Matthijs de Ligt is on his way to the exit at Juventus. It was already known that Chelsea have an above-average interest in the services of the central defender, but according to BILD Bayern Munich has also made inquiries about De Ligt. The stopper himself is open to a departure from Turin.

The German sports newspaper knows that there has been contact between Bayern and Juventus about a possible transfer from De Ligt. It is not clear whether of the Rekordmeister is still interested after the first conversation, as Juve reportedly wants to receive at least eighty million euros for the Dutchman. It remains to be seen whether Bayern are willing to pay such an amount. In any case, the Italians are willing to cooperate, but only if the requested amount is offered. De Ligt still has a contract until mid-2024 in Turin.

Bayern’s interest comes at a bad time for Chelsea, which appeared to have the best papers to sign De Ligt. In all likelihood will the Blues quickly come up with an improved offer to convince Juventus and to permanently lure the former Ajax player to Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old defender himself has already indicated that he would like a move to the Premier League and that Chelsea is also a club where he can see himself playing.

De Ligt’s Italian employment may therefore soon come to an end. In 2019, after the successful Champions League season with Ajax, he left for a maximum amount of 85 million euros la Vecchia Signora† Since then, he has made 87 league appearances and 8 goals for Juventus, but due to the presence of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, the Dutchman never got the real trust of his trainers.
