Bayer Leverkusen booked the biggest league win of the century on Saturday. The team of coach Gerardo Seoane wiped the floor on Saturday with Greuther Fürth, which suffered a 7-1 defeat. Patrik Schick was accurate four times in the second half and is the first player ever to score four times on behalf of Leverkusen in a Bundesliga game. Greuther Fürth suffered their twelfth consecutive defeat, a negative record in Bundesliga history. That Work Self is third in the Bundesliga with 27 points. TSG Hoffenheim won 3-2 against Eintracht Frankfurt and takes fourth place.

Bayer Leverkusen – Greuther Furth 7-1
With Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen) and Jetro Willems (Greuther Fürth) there were two Dutch wing defenders on the field; Daley Sinkgraven was on the bench with the home team, while Mitchel Bakker, Timothy Fosu-Mensah (both Leverkusen), Justin Hoogma and Nick Viergever (both Greuther Fürth) are all injured. Amine Adli opened the score by acrobatic extension of Moussa Diaby’s cross, after which Edmond Tapsoba headed the ball from a twisting free kick by Florian Wirtz to make it 2-0. Two Greuther Fürth players went to the ground in a tug-of-war, but the goal was valid.

Jeremy Dudziak restored the tension with a low, diagonal shot that flew into the goal from the inside of the post. However, on the stroke of half-time, Leverkusen again took a margin of two goals. Piero Hincapié received the ball on the side of the penalty area from Schick and searched the right corner; keeper Marius Funk did not intervene convincingly enough. After the break, Schick made it 4-1 himself with a bet around the penalty spot: he was able to free up after a tight pass from Adli. It was his first of four goals in the second half.

The Czech striker struck from close range after preparatory work by Diaby, made it 6-1 from a rebound after a shot by Karim Bellarabi exploded on the crossbar and pushed the ball into the left corner after a cross by Wirtz. Due to his four-fold, Schick is suddenly in second place in the top scorer ranking with twelve goals; Robert Lewandowski made fourteen. Greuther Fürth was already the first Bundesliga club ever to only have one point from the first eleven matches, but after fourteen appearances is still on the same number of points.

TSG Hoffenheim – Eintracht Frankfurt 3-2
Eintracht started the way up in recent weeks with three consecutive wins and seemed to continue that form against Hoffenheim. Rafael Borre made the 0-1 after fifteen minutes with a hard header after a cross by Jesper Lindström. Before the break, however, Hoffenheim straightened out: Dennis Geiger equalized with a wonderful long shot of approximately 22 meters and Georginio Rutter was able to strike from close range from a rebound six minutes later. A deflected shot by Diadie Samassekou made it 3-1 after the break; it was still 3-2 via Gonçalo Paciência, but that was it.

1. FSV Mainz 05 – VfL Wolfsburg 3-0
In a rather insane opening phase, Mainz took a double lead within four (!) minutes. First the Wolfsburg defense forgot to cover Jonathan Burkardt in the ashes of the field, after which the Mainz striker fired in: 1-0. Shortly afterwards, Anton Stach tried with a shot from eighteen yards. Goalkeeper Pavao Pervan made a mistake and was unable to turn the tenable ball: 2-0. Wolfsburg tried again, but failed at all to put Wout Weghorst into position. It got even worse for the visitors, as Maxence Lacroix headed a free kick by substitute Jean-Paul Boëtius into his own goal in injury time: 3-0. Micky van de Ven stayed on the couch with the Wölfe.
