SC Cambuur suffered damage for the second time in a row in the Kitchen Champion Division on Saturday evening. Coach Henk de Jong’s men came to visit TOP Oss with no more than a disappointing draw: 2-2. The Frisians now have seven points from four games and can be put five points behind by NAC Breda on Monday.

Olivier Rommens gave TOP Oss the lead in the seventh minute. Ruben Roosken broke through over the left flank and found Rommens with a low cross, who hit the far corner from the edge of the sixteen: 1-0. Cambuur went in search of the equaliser from that moment on. Robin Maulun hit the post from outside the sixteen, while Issa Kallon refused to put the ball aside to the free Robert Mühren.

De Jong intervened after 38 minutes and made a double change at Cambuur. Doke Schmidt was not happy to be pulled to the side so early and reacted his frustration on one of the seats on the side. Trainer De Jong will have been happy with the effect, as Ragnar Oratmangoen tapped into the 1-1 at the far post four minutes after his turn. The Frisians scored a penalty two minutes after Kallon was tapped by Grad Damen after a hijacking move. Mühren then rounded off the penalty spot flawlessly: 1-2.

After rest TOP Oss showed resilience. Coach Klaas Wels’s team were back on level terms fifteen minutes after the break thanks to a great goal from Jarni Koorman. TOP’s number ten took a high pass from Lion Kaak and shot the ball quietly behind goalkeeper Sonny Stevens: 2-2. Cambuur saw in the remainder a goal from Mühren rejected for being offside.
