Referee Florian Badstübner and the video referee on duty made a huge blunder on Saturday during the match between Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund. Marcel Sabitzer took a penalty in the second half with a 1-2 lead, but after shooting in the penalty, Badstübner suddenly whistled for a free kick.

At Borussia-Park, Sabitzer thought he could score the 1-3 for Borussia Dortmund, but that goal was cancelled. At first the midfielder thought he had to take the penalty again. After consultation with the video referee, it became clear that there would be no rematch, but that a free kick was awarded to Gladbach.
