Bayern Munich has announced the line-up for Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg. Matthijs de Ligt is the only Dutchman in Julian Nagelsmann’s starting line-up. Daley Blind is on the bench, while Ryan Gravenberch, possibly due to an injury, is not in the game selection. It was puzzling for Nagelsmann because of the many injuries in his team. Dayot Upamecano and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting were doubtful and cannot play. The duel in the Volkswagen Arena starts at 5.30 p.m.

Gravenberch did not come unscathed from the won DFB-Pokal duel with Mainz (4-0 win) and does not take a seat on the bench. Bayern suffered a loss of points in the first three league games of 2023. Against RB Leipzig, 1. FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt, the Bavarian formation did not get further than a 1-1 draw. Because Union Berlin won 2-1 against Mainz yesterday, Ajax’s future opponent in the Europa League is now the leader in the Bundesliga. The difference with pursuer Bayern is two points. Wolfsburg is in seventh place with 29 points from 18 matches.

Yann Sommer will be under the bar on Sunday afternoon. Playing in the back (vrnl) are João Cancelo, Benjamin Pavard, De Ligt and Alphonso Davies, whom Blind once again keeps out of the starting eleven. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka form the controlling block in midfield. Up front, Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller and Kingsley Coman must provide the danger and the goals. Nagelsmann still cannot rely on Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernández, Sadio Mané and Bounna Sarr.

Lineup Bayern Munich: Summer; Cancelo, Pavard, De Ligt, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Coman, Musiala, Sane; Muller.
