Russian football clubs remain banned from international football competitions. The clubs appealed too late against the decision of the CAS, the international sports tribunal. The Russians filed the appeal on February 10, while the deadline was January 13. The case is therefore no longer handled by the CAS.

As a result, all Russian clubs and the Russia national team remain banned from the international competitions, such as the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. The national team is also not allowed to compete in international competitions for national teams. In November, the clubs also filed an appeal, which was also rejected by the CAS.

FIFA and UEFA banned the Russian clubs and the Russia national team about a year ago after the country invaded Ukraine. The general expectation is that the ban will not be lifted until the Russian invasion of Ukraine comes to an end NOS clearly.
