A return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Sporting Portugal is starting to become more and more realistic. Cuatro reports that the 36-year-old attacker is willing to sacrifice a lot to spend the end of his career with his childhood sweetheart. Rumors of a return to Sporting are further fueled by statements by mother Dolores Aveiro, who appeared at the club’s championship party.

Sporting was crowned champion of Portugal for the first time since 2002 this week. Ronaldo’s mother appeared in front of the camera Tvi24. “I’m going to Italy to talk to him. Next year he will play in the Alvalade (the stadium of Sporting, ed.), I will convince him ”, Aveiro promised. It further fuels rumors of Ronaldo’s return to Portugal. According to Cuatro that scenario is starting to become more and more realistic.

There would even be negotiations between Ronaldo and Sporting, which has made him an offer. Ronaldo is currently collecting thirty million euros a year from Juventus, but would be willing to sacrifice significantly to return to Lisbon. It is emphasized that money is of secondary importance in the last years of his career. Ronaldo also recently bought a luxury penthouse in Lisbon, worth a whopping seven million euros.

In any case, the marriage between Ronaldo and Juventus is about to explode, despite the fact that his contract will continue until mid-2022. La Vecchia Signora threatens to miss a Champions League ticket, which further exacerbates the financial consequences of the corona crisis. Ronaldo is weighing heavily on the budget with his salary, which has led to speculation in Italy about Ronaldo’s departure. Part of the criticism for the mediocre season focuses on Ronaldo and the 173-time Portuguese international would therefore want to leave Italy after three years.

Sporting will at least play in the Champions League next season, which would give Ronaldo extra motivation to return. The club from Lisbon removed Ronaldo from the youth academy of Nacional in 1997, after which six years later with 31 appearances in the main force behind his name, he left for Manchester United. Now he can return to Sporting after eighteen years, with whom he won the Portuguese Super Cup in 2002.
