Sheffield United will almost certainly be relegated to the Championship. The bottom of the Premier League fought for perhaps his last real chance on Saturday, but lost 1-4 to competitor Burnley. Gustavo Hamer beautifully made the 1-2, but that was not enough. Sheffield is last with 16 points, while Burnley now has 23 points. Burnley, in turn, has only three points less than the currently safe Nottingham Forest, which still has a game in hand. Luton Town also lost hard on Saturday, against Brentford: 1-5.

The first half was one to quickly forget for Sheffield, who last won on February 10 and could therefore use the points particularly well. Burnley, which was also slightly less troubled, was already 0-2 ahead during the tea break.

Jacob Bruun Larsen opened the scoring in minute 38. The Dane's shot seemed very tenable, but turned out not to be the case for goalkeeper Ivo Grbic: 0-1. The 0-2 followed two minutes later. Vitinho passed to Lorenz Assignon, who was able to simply continue and finish.

Just after halftime, Hamer brought the tension back into the match. The Brazilian-born Dutchman tackled his direct opponent and found the far corner with a well-placed shot. Sky Sportsanalyst Tim Sherwood was impressed by the goal: “He leaves his opponent on the ground and curls the ball into the far corner. Great finish!”

However, the joy of the goal was short-lived, as Burnley made it 1-3 again five minutes later. Assignon again showed his good dribbling skills and passed to Lyle Foster, for whom it was a breeze to find the corner.

It didn't stop there for manager Vincent Kompany's team. The former Red Devil Johann Berg sent Gudmundsson into the field and that turned out to be a great choice. Less than a minute after coming on as a substitute, the ex-AZ player curled a goal into the far corner: 1-4.

Luton Town – Brentford 1-5

At the same time as the Sheffield game, Luton Town took on Brentford at home. Luton are eighteenth, one point behind Nottingham, and could therefore have done excellent business in the fight against relegation. However, that didn't happen. Brentford won convincingly 1-5.

Big man on the side of the Bees was Yoane Wissa. The Congolese signed for the 0-1 and 0-2. After the break, Ethan Pinnock, Keane Lewis-Potter and Kevin Schade finished the job. Thanks to the victory, Brentford rises to fourteenth place and, with ten points ahead of Luton and four matches to go, they are almost certain of survival. Luke Berry scored the goal of honor in injury time.
