Three Real Madrid youth players have been arrested on suspicion of recording and distributing a sexual video featuring a minor. Spanish media reported this on Thursday evening, after reporting from El Confidencial. These would be players from Real Madrid Castilla – the second team – and the third team.
Yet more footballers, including first-team players, may be involved, it is reported. The names of possible parties involved have not yet been mentioned. El Confidencial know that on September 6, the mother of a sixteen-year-old reported to the police that one of the players had recorded a sexual video of her daughter and distributed it. All this is said to have happened on Las Palmas.
A number of arrests were subsequently made this morning and those arrested were taken to the police station. The main suspect appears to be a footballer from Real Madrid’s third team. He is said to have had a relationship with the minor, but this has not yet been confirmed by the police. Police now want to seize the suspects’ mobile phones to look for evidence. It cannot be ruled out that other people involved will also be arrested at a later stage.
Real Madrid has now responded to the news in a statement. “Real Madrid announces that it has learned that a Castilla player and three Real Madrid C players have made a statement to the Guardia Civil (the Spanish police, ed.) in connection with a complaint about the alleged distribution of a private video on WhatsApp. Once the club has detailed knowledge of the facts, it will take appropriate measures,” it reads.
