Getafe has filed a complaint against Real Madrid for a substitution error, the club announced through the official channels. Won last weekend the Royal the home game in LaLiga against Getafe 1-0 thanks to a goal from Marco Asensio, but los Azulones do not accept defeat and demand a regulation 0-3 victory. It is therefore pointed to a ‘wrong substitution’ by coach Carlo Ancelotti in minute 84.

In the lawsuit filed with el Competitive Committee (in the Netherlands the appeals committee), it says that Asensio was taken off six minutes before the end of regular playing time. Even before the goal scorer was substituted, Eduardo Camavinga (due to an injury) suddenly left the field. According to Getafe, Ancelotti made a mistake, because Álvaro Odriozola had already entered the field before Real Madrid changed their mind and took Camavinga off.

The Spanish federation has heard the complaint and gives Real Madrid three days to come up with an explanation for the ‘ghost change’. Afterwards, the committee will determine what the punishment will be. Should Real Madrid be found guilty of making an illegal substitution, the club could be penalized with a points deduction. A 0-3 win for Getafe would see Real Madrid drop from second to third in LaLiga, while coach José Bordalás’ team would climb out of the relegation zone. In addition, would the Royal receive a fine of 6,001 euros to 9,000 euros.

Article 76 of the game rules is clear: in the case of a paragraph indebida the club at fault is penalized with a regulation 0-3 defeat. According to it ASH there is little chance that the committee will judge Real Madrid’s alleged mistake as such. The arbitral quartet had given permission to Camavinga to leave the field instead of Asensio. Mark holds back and lets in the possible verdict of the committee
