LaLiga will nevertheless take action in response to the racist behavior of Real Valladolid fans towards Vinícius Júnior. In the league match against Real Madrid, the attacker had to pay the price and was again the target of racism. The organizer of the Spanish football league will file a complaint against the supporters involved and also announced more actions to combat racism.

Vinícius has often had to deal with racism from the Spanish stands and last Friday in the away game at Real Valladolid it was hit again. The Brazilian was repeatedly hurled at his head and in videos made from the Valladolid area, jungle noises could be heard. The attacker criticized LaLiga, which according to him did nothing in response to this misconduct, but the organization is now going to file a complaint against the supporters involved.

The winger wrote a message on his Twitter page the day after the game and turned to LaLiga. “Racists continue to visit the stadiums and take a closer look at the biggest club in the world. And LaLiga continues to do nothing… But I will continue with my head held high and celebrate my victories and those of Madrid. In the end, it’s MY fault,” he wrote. It is not the first time that Vinícius has been confronted with racism in Spain. This was already the case prior to the city derby with Atlético Madrid in September. In the run-up to the clash at the Wanda Metropolitano, several hundred supporters of Atlético could be heard chanting ‘Vinícius, you are a monkey’. According to various local media, monkey noises and insults towards the 22-year-old Brazilian could also be heard during the derby at the time.

A few days after the most recent incident, LaLiga has therefore filed a complaint against the fans who were guilty of the racist behavior. To combat racism, the number of LaLiga officials at risk matches will also be increased and there will be more warnings in stadiums to prevent misconduct.
