Quincy Promes is ‘just’ in the base on Saturday afternoon at Spartak Moscow in the league match against FK Krasnodar. The attacker has had a turbulent week after it was announced this week that the Public Prosecution Service wants to prosecute him for attempted manslaughter after an attack with a knife on his cousin. For the Russian club, that is no reason to leave Promes out of the match selection. The winger will appear at kick-off at 5 p.m. to visit Krasnodar.

Promes is suspected of stabbing his cousin in the knee with a knife during a family party in Abcoude last year. The Public Prosecution Service announced on Thursday that the fifty-time international is being prosecuted for attempted manslaughter. Gerard Spong, lawyer for Promes, did not want to speak to the media on Thursday and a spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service said that it will become clear whether the ex-Ajacied will show up after a summons has been issued.

A spokesman for Spartak already responded on Thursday evening by stating that Promes is “fully focused on the upcoming games”. A hearing date has not yet been announced. The suspect was arrested by the police on Sunday, December 13, 2020 and sent away on Tuesday, December 15, after being interrogated, by order of the public prosecutor. He has not been brought before the examining magistrate, which means that he was released without conditions being set for that release,” said the Public Prosecution Service about the Spartak attacker.
