PSV will play next Thursday against NS Mura and the people of Eindhoven now know who the opponent in the play-offs of the Europa League will be when the Slovenes are dealt with. Coach Roger Schmidt’s team went into the draw for the final qualifying round on Friday afternoon and is linked to the winner of the match between Rosenborg BK and Alanyaspor.

There were a number of options for PSV at the draw on Friday afternoon, including old familiar LASK Linz. Besides the Austrians, who were in PSV’s group last season in the Europa League and won 4-1 at home, also NK Rijeka (Croatia), Dunajská Streda (Slovakia) and Kolos Kovalivka (Ukraine) were among the possible opponents.

However, fate has determined that PSV will take on the winner of the match between Rosenborg and Alanyaspor. Rosenborg is also an old acquaintance for the Eredivisieist, as the Norwegians were also in the group with PSV last season in the Europa League. The Eindhovenmers won out, but played equal in home against coach Aage Hareide’s team.
