PSV pays a rent of 2.5 million euros for Carlos Vinícius, according to Benfica’s annual report. The Portuguese top club also reports that a mandatory option to purchase has been concluded with the Eindhoven residents, who in turn contradict this: according to PSV, there are conditions whereby the purchase option does not need to be ratified, it knows. Eindhovens Dagblad

In the search for an extra option in the striker, PSV ended up with Vinicius at the very last minute this summer, who was hired for two seasons. Financial details were not disclosed, but are now coming out through Benfica’s annual report. It is remarkable that as aguias talk about a mandatory option to buy: PSV would have to pay ten million euros for fifty percent of the transfer rights of the 26-year-old Brazilian.

It Eindhovens Dagblad asked PSV about this, which does not know anything about a mandatory component in the lease. The Noord-Brabants state that there are restrictive conditions, which make it not a mandatory option to purchase. That is emphatically not about the number of playing minutes of Vinícius: PSV can set up the striker indefinitely.

The lease runs until mid-2023, after which one more season. PSV is in charge of this: the people of Eindhoven can already cancel the agreement unilaterally next summer, Benfica does not have that option. For the time being, Vinícius has not left an indelible impression in the Philips Stadium. In the absence of first choice Eran Zahavi, Roger Schmidt chose midfielder Mario Götze as striker against sc Heerenveen (3-1) last Sunday. Vinicius had to make do with a substitute. The Brazilian has 6 goals and 6 assists in 24 appearances, half of which as a substitute.
