PSV has aimed its arrows at eighteen-year-old midfielder Williot Swedberg, reports SportsExpress† The Swedish newspaper already announced at the end of April that the people of Eindhoven have once again set their sights on the attacking midfielder, after six months ago, interest from both Ajax and PSV had been reported. According to express Swedberg was recently also viewed by scouts from Barcelona and Manchester United, but the interest of the people of Eindhoven is currently the most concrete.
The Swedish newspaper writes that Swedberg was viewed last Sunday during the derby against AIK (3-3) by technical manager Jan Vennegoor or Hesselink, among others. PSV has confirmed the interest in Hammarby’s eighteen-year-old growth brilliance, but will face stiff competition in the battle for his signature. According to Swedish media, Osasuna is also in the market for Swedberg, while he was previously in the strong interest of the Russian Lokomotiv Moscow and he is also known by the scouts of Barcelona, Manchester United, Ajax, Club Brugge and FC Augsburg.
Swedberg extended his contract with Hammarby in the summer of 2021 and will be on the payroll at the Swedish club until mid-2024. He was trained by his current club and has made 34 official appearances for Hammarby to date, scoring eight goals and providing two assists. The teenage talent has started the new season strongly with five goals in eight league matches. Hammarby would prefer to keep the midfielder for this reason, but would be willing to consider a summer transfer with a bid of 6.5 million euros.
