PSV supporters tried to wake up the Olympiacos selection with a fireworks display in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Around five o’clock in the morning, some supporters of the Eindhoven club set off the blasting equipment in front of the hotel where the Greeks are staying. Other residents of the city were also woken up by the bang and wondered what was going on, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad.

It is not the first time this week that supporters try to disturb the opponent’s sleep with the help of fireworks. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, the same happened in Enschede, when FC Twente supporters set off fireworks at the hotel where the selection of Feyenoord stayed. However, that action did not have much effect. Twente still took a 2-0 lead, but saw how the team from Rotterdam came alongside: 2-2.

PSV has to make up for a 4-2 deficit from the home game on Thursday to ensure a place in the last sixteen in the Europa League. In any case, the people from Eindhoven want to prevent it from being played out on all fronts at the end of February, so the pressure on the shoulders of trainer Roger Schmidt’s team is enormous. Ibrahim Sangaré is a big absent from PSV. The Ivorian midfielder has been suspended.
