Fredrik Oppegård has extended his contract with PSV. The left back had a contract until mid-2023, but is now fixed until the summer of 2025. He kicked off seven times this season in a match for Jong PSV in the Keuken Kampioen Division, but no longer played in the kitchen due to injury. past two and a half months.

Oppegård has been playing in the PSV youth academy since the summer of 2020. The Norwegian was scouted by PSV while he was still playing as a wing attacker. In the youth academy he was turned into a defender. After his first season with PSV Under 19, he moved on to Jong PSV. He was a regular there this season, until he suffered an injury at the end of September. As a result, he is currently still sidelined.

In total, Oppegård played 31 official games for Jong PSV and twice made his appearance for the first team in an official game. In December 2020 he came in a minute before the end against RKC Waalwijk (1-4 win); in August 2021 he participated for nine minutes against Ajax (0-4 victory) in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Scale.

Although he has been out of circulation for some time, Oppegård did participate in a practice match against Jong FC Dordrecht (10-0 win) a month ago. A few months ago it became clear that PSV was working on a new contract for the youngster, who hopes to join the A-selection next year. PSV also hopes to extend the expiring contract of 20-year-old right back Shurandy Sambo.
