PSV is still without a loss of points after six rounds in the Eredivisie. The team of trainer Peter Bosz was too strong for Go Ahead Eagles in their own Philips Stadium with a score of 3-0. PSV did not play the best first half. Passes regularly did not arrive, which did not benefit the attacking game of the Eindhoven team. Nevertheless, the first serious danger of the match came from PSV. De Jong thought he could benefit from a sharp cross from Lozano, but Jeffrey de Lange made a good save. PSV started to push more and more as the first half progressed and took the lead. A sharp cross from Teze ended up with De Jong, who headed it through the ground: 1-0. Immediately from the kick-off, Go Ahead had a chance to score the equalizer. Kuipers got the ball in the box, advanced a few meters and saw his effort turned away in the short corner by Benítez. Gerrit Nauber also had an opportunity to score 1-1. However, the German headed over from a corner.
After the break, PSV appeared a lot sharper. The game was decided just four minutes after halftime. Van Aanholt gave a sharp lead and saw Til slide in from close range: 2-0. De Lange had to take action twice in the subsequent phase. First of all, Van Aanholt shot hard but straight at De Lange, a minute later the goalie tapped Lang’s effort over the crossbar.
