The ways of trainer Mauricio Pochettino and Paris Saint-Germain will part, reports Le Parisien Sunday. The Paris newspaper emphasizes that both the coach and the club do not see any prospect of a longer collaboration, despite the fact that PSG won the French league title last Saturday. Antonio Conte, the current trainer of Tottenham Hotspur, would already join the management of le Parisiens to express their interest in the position.

Pochettino still has a continuous contract with PSG until mid-2023. According to reports, both parties have been discussing an extension of the contract for some time, but it seems that a new agreement will not come. In fact, PSG would now consider buying the remainder of the coach’s contract, so that they can immediately start looking for a new trainer. Le Parisien know that the parties only need to reach an agreement on the financial settlement. It is reported that the Parisians will have to pay a severance payment of 15 million euros to say goodbye to Pochettino next summer.

The reporting is striking, as the Argentine coach after winning the Ligue 1 indicated at the press conference that there is no question of a possible departure. “It is important for everyone to give the club even more titles. Also on a personal level, winning this title gives a very satisfied feeling. We hope to win even bigger prizes in the future,” said Pochettino, who was previously linked to a move to Manchester United.

At the same time reveals Le Parisien that Conte is interested in the position currently held by Pochettino. The Italian would like to take over from his fellow trainer and he has already expressed his interest to the Paris leadership. Conte reportedly wants to sign a two-year contract. While PSG is not unwilling to partner with Conte, the club would prefer Zinedine Zidane.
