Paris Saint-Germain takes Lionel Messi in grace. Christophe Galtier, the coach of the Paris superpower, announced at the press conference prior to the match against Ajaccio that Messi’s suspension will be lifted early. Galtier immediately promises Messi a starting place. “He’s going to play,” said the coach.

Messi missed a training session with Paris Saint-Germain last week due to a previously planned trip to Saudi Arabia. The Argentinian superstar was initially suspended for two weeks and would not receive a salary during that period. Messi made his apology in a video on social media, in which he said that he could no longer get out of the trip to the Middle East. “I thought we would have a day off after the game, as is always the case,” said Messi.

The Argentinian returned to training earlier than expected, but was left out for the league match against Troyes (3-1 win). Galtier now announces that the superstar will be back on Saturday as a basic player. “I spoke to him on Tuesday to see how he was doing and I thought he was very determined to play. He will start tomorrow.”

Galtier says PSG could use Messi’s additional impulses. “If he is on the field, you have to adjust some things to find a good balance,” says the coach. “We saw against Troyes that the team showed itself in a good way without Leo. With Messi we will have more offensive weapons.”
