Pablo Sarabia will immediately transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Wolverhampton Wanderers, both clubs have announced. The midfielder hardly appeared in the plans of trainer Christophe Galtier at the French superpower and will be added the wolves reunited with Julen Lopetegui, with whom he worked at the Spanish Federation and Seville. Sarabia has signed a contract for two and a half years. The deal is worth around five million euros.

Sarabia and Lopetegui have known each other for a while. The 56-year-old coach was in charge of Spain Under 19 in 2011 when he decided to make Sarabia captain in the run-up to the eventual European Championship win. At that time, the midfielder played for Real Madrid’s U21 team, where Lopetegui had been working just before. When a breakthrough at Real turned out not to be possible for Sarabia, he decided to experience his breakthrough in Spanish football at Getafe.

After five seasons, 146 official games and fifteen goals, he continued his career in 2016 with Sevilla, where he signed a four-year contract. With the Andalusians, Sarabia completely revived and scored 23 goals and seventeen assists in his last season, making himself into LaLiga’s Team of the Year. It not only earned him recognition in his native country, but also a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain. The French elite club paid eighteen million euros.

However, the adventure in the French capital never turned out to be what Sarabia herself had expected and hoped for, as he never became an undisputed starting player. The counter stops at 98 official matches. He managed to score 22 times and acted as a declarant twelve times. With PSG he won the national championship twice, won the cup twice and won the French Super Cup three times. During a rental period at Sporting Portugal, he reached the numbers from his best years at Sevilla last season (fifteen goals and six assists).
