Pierre van Hooijdonk will return to NAC Breda, the club announced through the official channels on Thursday afternoon. The former striker will fulfill a technical role in the Supervisory Board (RvC) and will be responsible for the technical policy of the club. The appointment of Van Hooijdonk is a direct result of a restructuring of the club management.

NAC writes on the website that the new shareholder, the investor collective NAC = Breda, transfers the recently acquired shares directly to the Stichting Administratie Kantoor NAC (STAK). With this share package, the board of the STAK now has full control over the club: “NAC is once again fully in charge of its own house”, that is how the people from Noord-Brabant describe the changes in the top. “This is something that many stakeholders around NAC have fought hard for.”

The STAK manages the shares of NAC, appoints the Supervisory Board of NAC and approves the strategic plan and budget of the club. With the approval of the STAK, the Supervisory Board appoints the management of NAC and also has the task of supervising the management of NAC. A position in that Supervisory Board is now being made available for Van Hooijdonk, who played for NAC between 1991 and 1995 and in the 2005/06 season. Later he was an unpaid advisor to the Breda club management for a short time.

“Van Hooijdonk fulfills the position at NAC as a technical supervisor who is also charged with the development of the football vision, the technical plans and the realization of the day-to-day implementation within NAC. If a new technical director is appointed at NAC, Van Hooijdonk will have the portfolio as a member of the Supervisory Board: the technical policy of the club,” NAC emphasizes.
