Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has officially committed to Al-Qadsiah, the Saudi club announced via official channels. The Gabonese comes over from Olympique Marseille and has signed a contract until mid-2026 in Venlo, where the club has its training camp.

The now 35-year-old Aubameyang was in his second youth at Marseille last season. In all competitions he was good for no less than 30 goals and 11 assists in 51 games. Seventeen of those goals came in Ligue 1, while he was also on target in the Europa League with ten goals.

Aubameyang recently announced his departure from Marseille. “It's time for me to start a new chapter,” he wrote on Instagram. “I have always followed my father's advice. He made me the player I am.”

“We have taken the decision to take this step. I have had a year full of emotions and I thank the club, the staff, my teammates and our supporters,” concluded the French-born Aubameyang.

Al-Qadsiah has already managed to attract a number of big names this summer. For example, the brand-new EC winner Nacho Fernández opted for an adventure with the Saudi promoted team. In addition, it became clear at the start of the EC that Koen Casteels, the number one of Belgium in the absence of Thibaut Courtois, had committed to Al-Qadsiah.

The club also managed to strengthen itself with Uruguayan international Nahitan Nández, who came from Cagliari, and Mexican international Julián Quiñones, who came from Club América.

With his transfer, Aubameyang will play football outside Europe for the first time in his career. His career started at FC Rouen, after which he also played for SC Bastia, AC Milan, Dijon, Lille OSC, AS Monaco, AS Saint-Étienne, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, FC Barcelona, Chelsea and Marseille.
