Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been hospitalized with malaria, the Arsenal attacker announced via Instagram. The 31-year-old attacker contracted the disease during international obligations with Gabon. It automatically means that Aubameyang will not be part of the return of the quarter-final of the Europa League, which Arsenal will play against Slavia Prague on Thursday-evening in the Czech Republic.

Gabon played in the qualifying cycle for the Africa Cup at the end of March against DR Congo (home, 3-0 win) and Angola (away, 2-1 defeat). Aubameyang was not part of the selection at the last international match.
