Olympique Lyon also failed to win on the third match day of Ligue 1. The team of trainer Peter Bosz led 3-1 in the home game with newcomer Clermont Foot on Sunday afternoon, but in the last ten minutes the lead was completely given away: 3-3. There were two draws led by Bosz and lost once, while Clermont is the surprising number two in the French league with seven points for the time being.
Bosz’s team started the game strongly and after two good chances in the first minutes, a penalty kick was the basis for the early opening goal. Johan Gastien gave Moussa Dembélé a tap in the penalty area, who immediately went to the ground. The attacker cashed in on the awarded eleven-meter kick himself. The joy was short-lived, as Sinaly Diomandé headed the ball from a corner by Jason Berthomier behind his own goalkeeper: 2-1.

Clermont also showed on Sunday that the victories over Girondins Bordeaux (0-2) and Troyes (2-0) had not been a fluke. The PhD student defended himself well, was very quick in the transition, but after more than twenty minutes came back when Dembélé was most attentive after a half save of goalkeeper Arthur Desmas. Lucas Paqueta’s 3-1 on the stroke of half-time could absolutely be there: the goal was preceded by a one-two with both Bruno Guimaraes and Houssem Aouar.
Lyon’s first victory under Bosz seemed to be a fact, but things went wrong in the last ten minutes for les Gones. In the eightieth minute Elbasan Rashani artfully knocked the ball over goalkeeper Anthony Lopes when he entered the penalty area and the Kosovar also determined the final score in the last minute: 3-2 and 3-3. Lyon will play an away game against Nantes FC next Friday.
