Olympique Lyon has credited the first win of the new season. The team of coach Peter Bosz won 0-1 against Nantes on Friday evening through a goal from Moussa Dembélé. In the final phase, Lyon had to limit itself to defending, after a red card for defender Rafael, but Nantes did not come alongside. Lyon spend the night in sixth place in Ligue 1, with five points from four matches.

Lyon hoped to wash away the bad aftertaste of the draw against Clermont: on Sunday Bosz’s team gave up a 3-1 lead in the last ten minutes. Lyon opened the scoring against Nantes after 34 minutes. After a long ball from the back by Maxence Caqueret, Lucas Paquetá controlled the ball with force majeure in the penalty area. He took the leather around the box on the chest, turned cleverly away from his guard and came across Alban Lafont. In the rebound, Dembélé was accurate.

The goal came in a phase in which Lyon had the upper hand, without creating many chances. In the second half, Paquetá and Houssem Aouar missed the 0-2 chances. Anthony Lopes prevented Ludovic Blas from equalizing. Twelve minutes before the end, Lyon had to continue with ten men, because Rafael received his second yellow card. A final offensive by Nantes then yielded nothing, partly due to a save by Lopes on a bet by substitute Samuel Moutoussamy from within the penalty area.
