The match between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille (0-1) got completely out of hand in the final stages on Sunday evening. A total of five players with a red card were sent off the field after a scuffle, including Neymar. The Brazilian accused Marseille defender Álvaro González of racism, while he also got it on with Dimitri Payet during the game. The latter threw oil on the fire a day later by posting an edited photo on Twitter and Instagram with Neymar pictured as a dog.

The rivalry between PSG and Marseille is great and that was reflected in the underlying confrontation in Paris on Sunday. The match was full of unsportsmanlike incidents, including a brawl in injury time. Neymar got red because he gave González a tap on the back of the head. The Brazilian was angry because he accused the Marseille player of racism. In the aftermath, Neymar made himself heard on social media and aimed his arrows at González. “The only thing I regret is that I didn’t hit him in the face,” he wrote.

The aftermath of Le Classique keeps the minds of the French football world busy. Where Neymar gets a lot of support after he accuses González of racism, he doesn’t have to count on Payet’s empathy. González’ teammate posted an edited photo on his social media channels on Sunday evening. On a team photo of unknown people, he put pictures of heads of some of his teammates and trainer André Villas-Boas.

On the edited image, Payet has also put a spot on Neymar’s face. A player is holding a dog and the face of the Brazilian is on it. On the player holding the dog the Frenchman has stuck the face of González. The picture has amassed thousands of likes and retweets in a short time. On Twitter, some people can laugh about it, others care about finding it disrespectful.
