The name of Paul Pogba has recently been strongly associated with Paris Saint-Germain. Some of the supporters of les Parisiens is apparently not waiting for the arrival of the 28-year-old midfielder. A banner hung near the Parc de Princes on Saturday morning making it clear that Pogba is not welcome at PSG, according to photos that have surfaced via social media.

The reason for this position of some of the supporters seems to be statements from the past of Pogba, who grew up close to Paris. “I’m sure I won’t be playing club football at the Parc des Princes. That doesn’t appeal to me, because my mother and father are fans of Olympique Marseille. So it doesn’t really fit into the plans,” Pogba said in 2018 to Canal+. The midfielder has also said in the past that he was a fan of Olympique Marseille as a child and watched all the club’s matches.

Olympique Marseille is PSG’s big rival and that is probably why some of the Parisian supporters are not in favor of the arrival of Pogba. “Pogba, you should listen to your mother. She doesn’t want you here. And neither do we,” reads the banner hung near the Parc des Princes. The banner is not signed by any particular supporters group of les Parisiens.

Sky Sports recently reported that Pogba has informed Manchester United that he does not intend to extend his contract until mid-2022. As a result, the English superpower will have to get rid of the midfielder this summer in order to catch an acceptable transfer fee or at least to ensure that he does not walk out the door for free in a year. PSG is in the starting blocks to realize the arrival of Pogba and he would himself according to RMC Sports would like to play in Ligue 1.
