N’Golo Kante must fear for his participation in the World Cup at the end of this year. The French midfielder has been struggling with a hamstring injury for some time and, according to L’Equipe again faced a setback. That could make participation in the final tournament a difficult story.

In August, Kante was injured in the Premier League meeting between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur (2-2). At the time, it was expected that his hamstring injury would keep the small midfielder sidelined for a month and a half, but nothing could be further from the truth. Kanté has been sidelined for two months now and is working hard on a comeback, but has suffered another setback. L’Equipe writes that the Frenchman will have to rehabilitate for another five weeks.

This puts participation in the World Cup at risk for the 31-year-old controller. Didier Deschamps, the national coach of the French, will announce his final selection on November 9 and that date is quickly approaching. If Kanté is still not fit, the elector can decide to keep him out of the selection. That would solve the problems in the midfield of lesson Bleus only increase, since there is another key player in the rag basket with Paul Pogba.

Four years ago, Pogba and Kante were still basic players in the team that won the world title in Russia. The latter made a great impression as a vacuum cleaner in the service of the toppers in the front, who decided the duels in French favor. As replacements for Pogba and Kante, Deschamps has two Real Madrid players at his disposal, Aurelien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga. They also played together in the last international match in France.
