Vitesse has recovered excellently on Saturday evening after last week’s defeat against Ajax. The team of trainer Thomas Letsch was lord and master in-house against Heracles Almelo, which was defeated 3-0. Once again, star player Oussama Tannane played a major role on Vitesse’s side, by setting up the 2-0 with a beautiful through ball and scoring the third goal himself.

In the fourth minute of the match, Heracles should have taken the lead. Riechedly Bazoer just gave the ball away and sent Rai Vloet towards his own goalkeeper Remco Pasveer. The Heracles attacker then aimed just wide. Vitesse then took matters into their own hands and it was therefore no surprise that the Arnhem team scored after half an hour. Matus Bero picked up a deflected ball on the edge of the box and delivered the ball via a subtle through ball to Luïs Openda, who, face to face with goalkeeper Michael Brouwer, scored his first goal on behalf of Vitesse: 1-0.

Three minutes later, the home team made the second goal of the game. Tannane was at the basis of this, by brilliantly sending Openda away behind Heracles’ defense. The Belgian attacker served Oussama Darfalou with a low pass, who tapped in: 2-0. Silvester van de Water came in for Heracles immediately after the break. The wing attacker, who has been accepted in grace again after his rejected transfer, had a good chance in the 56th minute, but aimed just wide.

However, Heracles could not get closer to the goal of Vitesse than that. The Gelderlanders then decided the match on the other side of the field. Darfalou headed the ball back to Tannane, who took the half-bouncing ball in a smooth movement and smashed it from the edge of the box into the far corner: 3-0.
